Reason #1 to avoid outsourcing offshore

Today I received this email. I had a good chuckle to myself and then decided I'm tired of the approach some companies are taking. The mere fact that this email was sent proves their attention to detail is non-existent. So this will start a list of reasons I believe off-shoring companies end up costing you more money and time then had you chosen a local company to do the work. My company changed names almost a full year ago, from Mach 9 Consulting to Twine Interactive. Sure, this is a small detail you may say, OK then, lets move on. Since the name change we have also redirected the website to http://www.twineinteractive.com. Mr. Mathur who works for PSI would like to setup a "con" call which sounds more like the truth than he probably understands. A change of Twitter Account

I had been using the Twitter name UnraveltheTwine for a while. While I've enjoyed the name, it created some confusion for some people as which account was the business and which account was mine. Donuts for interviews?

Who doesn't love donuts? I mean really, I wouldn't have a problem eating a whole dozen except for the little voice in the back of my head reminding me "it's probably not the best idea". So this brings me to the point at hand. Is it a good idea to bring a box of donuts to an interview, or even before you've even gotten the call for said interview? This may seem strange, but more and more its been happening. Back in Feb 2009, a guy walked in off the street, asking to be an intern at my company. The next morning there was a box of donuts and a note left at the front door.... Whats better than free labor? Free Donuts!
